The Communications and Media Commission (CMC) held an expanded workshop in Baghdad that discussed the technical and regulatory requirements for managing the frequency spectrum for fifth-generation (5G) networks.
Representatives of licensed telecommunications companies and experts from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) took part in the workshop, where regional experiences and best practices in the allocation of frequency bands were reviewed.
The workshop produced a set of recommendations that will be presented to the Board of Commissioners in preparation for the adoption of a national roadmap for launching 5G services.
